I LOVE THIS APP. Seriously! Basically, this app will “listen” to a snippet of music and it will search some amazing kind of online database and then it will tell you what the name of the song is. Isn’t that just so amazing?????

Once you “tag” a song, it will search for it on iTunes and give you links where you can preview and purchase the music. It will also search YouTube and give you video results for the song as well. You can keep all your tagged music on your “My Tags” page or you can delete them once you’re done. You can also “share” the tag with someone via email if you want to tell them about a song you just heard. Another cool feature is the ability to take a photo of something that you want to link that music tag to.

I have to tell you that this app works really well. I was in a crowded ice cream shop a month ago and there was music playing relatively softly from speakers in the ceiling. I started up the app and held the phone up toward the ceiling and guess what?? It accurately recognized the song over all the voices in the shop. It was incredible.

If you’ve ever heard a song and thought “Wow, I wonder who sings this?” then you know how incredibly useful this app can be. I think everyone owes it to themselves to download this app and give it a shot. Of course, there are some obscure songs and artists it won’t be able to find in its database, but nothing could ever identify ALL the music that’s out there.
